Music and Listening Sessions for Pre-School Deaf Children

An experienced Teacher of the Deaf is offering five free music and listening sessions for pre-school deaf children during the summer holidays. These will take place on Thursday mornings in Newbury in Berkshire on 4 August, 11 August, 18 August, 25 August and 1 September 2016 – see the flier for more details:  Summer music sessions

Funding for DELTA Summer School 2016

If you would like to apply to us for funding to attend the 2016 DELTA Summer School, please submit your General Funds application form by 31 May 2016. We cannot accept applications after this date.

The DELTA Summer School will take place from 28-31 July 2016 at the University of Worcester. It will provide advice, support and encouragement to families of deaf children of pre-school and primary school age. Backstage in Biscuit Land

Backstage In Biscuit Land is a show performed by Jess Thom, who has Tourette’s Syndrome, It will be at the Old Fire Station in Oxford on Tuesday 5 April 2016 at 7.30 pm. The show is for ages 14+. will be interpreted in British Sign Language, and will be a relaxed performance where every member of the audience is free to make noise and move around. Tickets cost £10.

Kite – a family show suitable for deaf audiences

Kite is a new play for children aged 7 and above and their families. The show will preview in Oxford before premiering at the London International Mime Festival. As a mime show, it is ideal for audience members who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Kite will be performed on Friday 22 January at 1.30 pm and 7 pm, and on Saturday 23 January at 2 pm and 6.30 pm at The North Wall in Oxford. For full details see the website or ring Amy Walters on 01865 319 450.

National Deaf Youth Football Tournament 2016

The Southern Area Deaf Youth Football Tournament will take place on Sunday 6 March 2016 from 12 -6 pm at the Goals Soccer Centre in Reading. It is open to all deaf football teams, deaf youth groups and mixed deaf and hearing teams who want to play.  Age groups will be U13, U16 and U18.

Signed performance of Treasure Island

Creation Theatre Company in Oxford presents a Relaxed Signed Performance of its Christmas production Treasure Island at The North Wall Arts Centre on Wednesday 30 December 2015 at 2 pm. The performance is aimed at children with autistic, sensory and communication conditions.
